2010
First decade of the century, wow. From bidding adieu to the 20th century and marching into the 21st century with people being ludicrously paranoid about Y2K to NOW, year 2010. How did this even happen?!! Quite overwhelming I must say.
Pardon me, I can't help but to be marvelled by this.
Anyway, on New Year's Eve, decided not to go to the city for a change and went up to Mount Dandenong instead with Weichao, Daisy and Lex.
Mother and son camwhoring in the car en route to the destination. Aren't we awesome? Hehe.
So, one of the highlights of this trip was to try the oh-so-famous scones at Miss Marples. And for that, I even checked their opening hours (11am - 4:30pm) and ascertained that they were opened on NYE prior to the journey.
We reached there at around 3:45pm and to our horror, they were already closed! Well, to be more precise, there were still customers within the place but they were closed for incoming customers.
Can you imagine our disappointment?
Damn, felt so cheated by them that I wanted to toss a lovely little hand grenade into their fancy little cottage on the spot! Sigh, guess we'll have to come earlier next time. :(
But no matter, we went to this quaint little cafe next door for afternoon tea.
It turned out to be quite pleasant honestly. Well, for the record I haven't been to Miss Marples before so wouldn't know I was missing out, hence was quite happy with this cafe which name I can't recall now.
My splendid apple & apricot teacake.
And while I was taking a picture of my teacake, Lex captured this. I rather fancy this shot, looks very artistic, you reckon? Btw that's his chocolate cheesecake.
A very dead Sassafras on NYE.
Three stooges plus photographer (Lex) trying to figure out what to do next in the middle of a dead town. Btw Lex claimed this photo looks like the emperor with his concubines wtf. -___-lll
Ended up going to SkyHigh much earlier than expected out of boredom. (SkyHigh is this place at the summit with a kick ass view overlooking Melbourne city. The whole point was to see the new year's fireworks from there without having to be buried amongst the formidable crowd at the CBD.)
Came across the giant's chair while bumming around at SkyHigh. So how giant is giant?
THIS giant!!!!
Lex posing sultrily on the giant's chair, err... Sounds kinda wrong.
How quaint. (Having said that, should probably PS Lex away from this shot LOL)

Lost in the midst of flora and fauna (which Daisy thought was rather similar to those of Avatar).
Anyway, this is uncanny but we seemed to have inadvertently done a good number of 'free advertisements'.
Free ad #1: iPod with Just Jeans speakers dangling around Weichao's neck.
Free ad #2: Lex simultaneously became the spokesman for Canon, Just Jeans and iPod.
Free ad #3: Canon. Love this shot btw, so cool! Swear I didn't PS Weichao's picture into the camera.
Free ad #4: iPod and Just Jeans (again)
And not to mention numerous free ads for Hungry Jack's.
Free ad #5
Free ad #6: Err... Well, the picture says it all, very wrong. Naughty Lex!
Free ad #7: This one looks like he's truly enjoying his Whopper.
Free ad #8: HJ again
Free ad #9: Yet another HJ
Reckon all the abovementioned brands owe us big bucks! Hehe.

Happy us =)
Have not the slightest idea of what Lex was up to, very cheeky.
Melbourne skyline with alarming dark clouds over it.
So the original plan was to hang around there until midnight to see the fireworks. Alas, the plan went kaput when thunderstorm started at approximately 10pm. We did remain in the car for a while though hoping the rain would stop soon.
However we were all soon made aware that it was otherwise and that the fireworks would be canceled. Headed back to Clayton and did the countdown at my place instead.
As anti-climax as it was, at least we had each other's company so it was pretty good nevertheless. (Come to think of it, not that I'm a big fan of fireworks anyway)
Happy new year to everyone! Hope you had a good one and best wishes for 2010. May this year be one that is filled with hope, happiness and love. =)
