Happy Chinese New Year!

Not overdue because technically we're not over the 15th day yet, therefore we're still within Chinese New Year. =p

So did everyone have a good one? I know I did. =)

Had
yee sang at work! How cool was that!

Dumplings courtesy of yours truly, 重出江湖!

Freshly baked egg tarts.

The lovely May, organiser of the
yee sang lunch.

Lara's lunch, pasta and some italian sausages, how's that for fusion? Btw Lara was so excited because she finally got to use her chopstick set.

While waiting...

let's not forget to camwhore too!

Not sure what we were waiting for though lol.

Finally, the moment had arrived, everyone gearing to attack.

Dig in peeps!

Love this shot. =)

Voila! A colourful platter of yee sang. Our angmoh colleagues were quite amazed by the ritual, though some were quite disgusted by the jellyfish within lol.

Once again, thanks May for organising the lovely lunch!

Went to Hog's Breath for Chinese New Year's Eve dinner. Now, before you 'condemn' us for going Western for such an occasion, there's a rationale behind it.

Justification: Because we were going to have Chinese the next day, thought we had something different the day before. Happy? =p

Alex was 'mercilessly' teased by us for being underdressed on such an important occasion, the poor guy.

My Byron Bay chilli sauce steak, thumbs up! Daisy and I had the same, except mine was medium rare and hers medium.

Alex's garlic mushroom steak.

Weichao's El Grande steak.

A standing ovation for the lovely Miss Hog's Breath please!

Went over to Weichao's place after dinner, feeling the CNY spirit yet? Btw kudos to Alex and myself for making the effort to get some 年糕,蛋卷 and 角仔.

No CNY is complete without gambling!

The designated chef of the night.

Weichao bossing poor Alex to fry some 年糕 lol.

Pièce de résistance of the night, bravo Alex. They may not look appealing (the camera didn't do them justice) but they were fantastic!

First day of Chinese New Year, 正月初一. Went to Ocean King at Glen Waverley for lunch.

This year's CNY had uncannily coincided with Valentine's day, thus the roses (a big thanks to Daniel). Love this shot btw.

Love this shot too, although we were looking away.

Some of the delicious food we had.

Alex the boss reconciling the bill lol.

See the bill? For the amount and the quality of the food, it was so cheap!

The CNY entourage. Weichao has a better version of this shot, pass it to me dude!

Headed to Crown Casino after lunch for the Chinese Festival. And it was jam packed with people!

Ran into some Chinese opera singers too, how surreal.

Shortly after that, went to Greco for some dessert.

Shared a chocolate tiramisu.

As well as a baked cheesecake, heavenly!

So it was a fabulous CNY and I'm blessed for being able to celebrate it with my dear friends. Hope everyone had a good one too. =)

On a random note, caught up with high school mate Kimberley yesterday.

She was in town for the week because her little sister will be studying here.

Brought them to Max Brenner (mainly because the other two top choices, namely Lindt Cafe and Koko Black were already closed at the time, bummer).

p.s. I'll be busy moving in the coming week. Oh, did I tell you I got a house? Yes, I've just got a house. Now congratulate me lol.
