My latest buy from ebay

And NO, I'm not eating my words. Just because I previously said

it just dawns on me that it's odd everyone knows exactly what I've been buying

doesn't mean that I won't ever showcase any of my 'triumphant' buys here, mood at the time applicable of course. What? I reserve the right to be temperamental you know, LOL.

Plus, a book somehow sounds like a more justifiable and intellectual buy (or rather, the buyer, which in this case, yours truly, would APPEAR to be more intellectual). Yes, I know I’m very 虚荣, thank you and shut up.

Anyway, my latest buy. *excited* The Alchemist from my favourite author Paulo Coelho!!! So what if I've already read it twice? I don't care, I simply MUST have this book! God knows how ecstatic I was when I received it in the mail. =)

So I've just finished reading it for the third time, and this time, I made sure I read it slowly, just so I could thoroughly absorb everything. But you know what? There are some books that effortlessly give you different enlightening thoughts everytime you read them, that's the beauty of reading and The Alchemist is definitely one of those books. So I reckon I'll read it over and over again. ^.^

This time around, reading the following line somehow caused an overwhelming sense of less-than-pH 7 in my eyes and nostril:
"And he saw that the Soul of God was his own soul. And that he, a boy,
could perform miracles." p. 152
Very beautifully written and very moving. T_T

Btw, I obviously got this book for a much cheaper price than the price shown above and what's better, NO postage and handling. How cool is that! Am very tempted to get a complete collection of Coelho's books though, hmm......

Enough said, it's time you people started reading The Alchemist as well!

******

So the house-hunting continues. All the best to both of us in securing a cozy house, somehow I just have a good feeling about it. Guess Santiago has inspired me to never give up in achieving my Personal Legend, although I'm yet to find out what my Personal Legend is. Nevertheless, I'm confident that this marks a good beginnng. =)

Had a wonderful chat over lunch with Father Hugh, the new chaplain and also our beloved priest in Lumen Christi Parish. Thank you Father, especially your brown paper bag idea, gosh that's hilarious! Btw, I just recently found out Lumen Christi means Light of Christ in Latin.

Been busy doing my tax return and realised I had to get an official receipt from Childfund Australia as a proof of my donations. Was planning to call them the next day until I received an annual receipt from them in the mail the next morning, wicked. o_o

Think I'll miss this place terribly. Having said that, it's time to move on, or in the words of Santiago, "the omens told me so". I'm at peace with this decision. Rest assured, all of you will be missed. =)

Finally,

managed to move my procrastinating lazy arse and tidied my room. Kudos to yours truly! \(*.*)/

Btw, check out the amount of junk I have. They're all papers! Wtf.

In an attempt to make my life easier, decided to comparmentalise my stuff and by stuff, I meant papers/documents, mostly. >_<

There, all labeled systematically (at least I think so).

See, I even have a 'sentimental' folder for anything deemed to have sentimental value. 0_0 Just in case you're wondering what constitutes 'sentimental', cards and little trinkets etc given to me by friends or family members are amongst the items kept in the folder.

A portfolio for all my published articles and a document wallet for all my pay slips plus tax related stuff (I'm determined to manage my tax like a responsible adult mind you!). Btw, that's just a temporary portfolio, planning to get one of those professional folders soon. ^.^

As strange as it may sound, it actually felt therapeutic categorising them. Wait a minute, I'm not becoming OCD, right? Anyway, I suppose life goes the same too, it's ideal to compartmentalise different aspects of your life or else everything will be a mess, sort of. Hmm, do pardon my sudden philosophical insight, LOL.

A much neater desk after the cleanup. =) Seriously, I tossed out heaps of junk just from this section of my room.

Ahem, excuse me to indulge myself in a slight sense of achievement, hehe.

My book collection plus some DVDs.

So, the lesson of the day, you never know what surprise you'll get when you clean your room. Like I actually came across some ang pows (Malaysian money of course) my relatives gave me before I came to Australia and a lovely little card my baby sis Amelda made for me which reading it after such a long time just drove me to tears of melancholy. T_T Damn I miss my family!

And, thanks to the amount of handbags I have (I'm a girl afterall you know), I also found some pay slips and little trinkets in different handbags, how cool is that! I must point out though, that's the reason some stuff were misplaced, bad habit. Ought to make it a habit to empty each handbag whenever I change handbags.

Planning to sell these guys, probably on ebay, if I'm in the mood, otherwise I'll probably give them away. Oh yea, speaking of ebay, just bought a new mobile phone from ebay. In fact, all the above photos were taken using my new mobile, not too shabby eh? And no, not showing my recent buy here, it just dawns on me that it's odd everyone knows exactly what I've been buying. -__- One thing I can say about my new mobile though --> 老娘非常满意! LOL

*****

Went to watch Kung Fu Panda with the guys the other night out of sheer boredom. I must say, I was initially sceptical about the movie (you know with all the recent hullabaloo about the Beijing Olympics and everyone seems to be capitalising on that, sien) but it turned out to be pretty good. Very hilarious.

Awwww, isn't the panda cute (btw Jack Black is the panda)? So chubby!

My favourite quote --> "There's no secret ingredient." Love it.

So,

remember how I previously said I'll do more ebaying?

Well, you bet I did! And what did I get this time?

Guess? (Pun intended)

Guess? Yes, of course I meant the wallet silly! (Now you know what I meant by 'pun intended' eh?) And yes, it does come with the Guess bag as shown in the above photo, don't ask me why, it was the seller's idea.

Ok, before you jump to the conclusion that I'm a crazy spendthrift who totally went out of control ebaying (btw, I only bought ONE item prior to this mind you!), let me shed some light on the current situation:
  1. My old Christian Dior wallet is totally broken beyond any salvation, particularly the coin and card compartments. And mind you, I actually put off getting a new wallet for a long time until some coins started rolling out more frequently. >_<
  2. Just in case you don't already know, I've renounced my previous shopaholic way of life. In fact, these days, I'm more of a rational shopper than the shopping maniac I used to be, meticulously weighing pros and cons of each buy.

With that, I rest my case, thank you. =)

Anyway, back to the wallet. It's a BRAND NEW authentic Guess wallet and still comes with a price tag! Check out the retail price --> $55. Needless to say, I got it for a much cheaper price, how exciting! \(*.*)/

Wasn't originally bidding on this though, was outbid in my previous bid on another wallet. Not that I'm complaining because the price for that wallet eventually skyrocketed to a ridiculous amount even higher than the original retail price!! 0_0 Talking about people who have no common sense. -__-lll

The ultimate bling-bling interior! *.*

Well, good price and good quality, what more could I ask for? I LOVE MY NEW WALLET! =)
