Titanic
After waiting for such a long time, we finally went! :)
And we went with such a huge entourage - there were 11 of us!!
Btw first three photos courtesy of dear Mel. Thanks for tagging me on fb so that I could steal them then post them on my blog, hehe...
Anyway, back to the exhibition. Thought last year's Pompeii exhibition was slightly better, I nevertheless had fun at Titanic. It was particularly heart-breaking to come across some final conversations between this elderly couple. The wife could have safely left the ill-fated Titanic on the lifeboat but she chose not to and stayed behind with her husband, she told him "We have been together for many years, where you go I go too."
Seriously, how could you not be moved by such love and devotion?!! T_T
Another interesting twist with the Titanic exhibition - everyone is handed a boarding pass and you get to find out whether you survive before you exit the exhibition. So, apparently I was this 47 year-old woman who was travelling alone on third class. Unsurprisingly, I 'died'. Oh well, what can you expect? It's third class after all, talk about social discrimination, live is cheap when you are poor, especially back in those days...
We also checked out the galleries at the Museum as it also includes entry to Melbourne Museum. Now I've been to the Museum many times but I daresay this was by far the best time! Perhaps it's the company?
Either way, I had such a wonderful time! :) Thanks guys and a big thank you to Mel for organising it.

最近听了某歌曲后竟然莫名其妙地有所感触。也许是被那不顾一切的努力感动吧，总觉得某段歌词令人振奋。

So, the Beijing Olympics.
I'm clear about my sentiment towards it and I do intend to keep it to myself. So don't even bother asking.
Anyway, was having my daily dose of short stories in the Sin Chew Jit Poh (星洲日报，a Malaysian Chinese newspaper）website (btw, do have a read for those who can read Chinese, they usually have pretty good short stories) when the following caught my attention:
YOU ARE STILL OUR CHAMPION! (That's what the headline says)
Apparently, Lee Chong Wei has lost to China's Lin Dan but hey, at least the bloke won Malaysia a silver medal, the FIRST medal (and possibly the only one, dear Malaysian athletes, please prove me wrong) we won in the Beijing Olympics. That's a HUGE achievement if you ask me.
So kudos to Lee Chong Wei, bravo! =)
Btw, I like what Daphne wrote, translation --> You will always be our gold medalist.
How sweet, now that's the spirit, Malaysia Boleh!! (Yes I'm a proud Malaysian despite the fact that I haven't been back home in three years)
And this is where we currently stand, 55th. Hmm, at least we're up there, couldn't ask for more. Once again, all the best to the Malaysian athletes!
Oh yea, was going through the medal tally and realised Malaysia has only won a total of THREE medals (before Chong Wei's silver, that is) ever since the first Olympics! 0_0 1 silver and 2 bronzes, all in badminton, unsurprisingly.
Dear menteri-menteri, could you guys please throw in more effort (more fundings per se) to develop young sports talents? Surely we can do better than 3 medals. -__-lll

On a more random note, just thought I post this video clip here. Most of you would probably be familiar with this song by now. 'Receive the Power' by Guy Sebastian and Paulini (who is she btw?), also the theme song of World Youth Day 2008.
Dear Lord, thank you for everything, I'm truly grateful. =)
p.s. Since I love quotes so much, I thought, why not I do a quote of the day thingy? Yes, very unoriginal but who cares? Btw, yes, I'm currently in the midst of reading Brida.
