The last Callista training,

was today.

So it was cancelled last week, without any prior notice, much to my dismay.

And today, as we were having a meeting, suddenly received a phone call that Cherie, Guido and I were to have a Callista Research today at 9.30am.

You want to know what the interesting part was? They only called us at 9.20am!!

Speaking of SHORT notice! -__-

Before I knew it, three of us were whisked away to Blackburn Road for the training. (Not that I'm complaining anyway, training = no work, haha! Though I'd much appreciate it if they actually bothered to inform us earlier.)

Anyway, after the rather brain-consuming training today, a friend's recent MSN shoutout was brought to mind --> "one day everything will make perfect sense, so for now laugh at all confusions". Thanks to dear Anna's and the girls' constant teachings for the last few months, the training today almost felt like a breeze! Skills and knowledge that I've acquired finally made sense in an utterly remarkable way! =) How invigorating.

******

Am very inspired by the appointment with Vince earlier. It was a rather productive appointment, I daresay. Once again, things seems to start making sense, hehe.

You know what? I honestly believe I'll make it in due time. =)

就不经意在某报纸看见以上的句子,
觉得有趣得来有点一厢情愿。

Quote of the Day: "You can only know a good wine if you have first tasted a bad one." (p. 232, in Brida, by Paulo Coelho)

Ok,

wasn't originally planning to update my blog but something 'extraordinary' just happened and I simply must share it with everyone!

So I was in a blissful state of mind, happily jabbering away on the phone with Amelda about what to get for my dear uncle's 80th birthday.

As soon as I got off the phone, I noticed the rain.

"Oh no! Weichao's clothes!" (He wasn't around btw, out to uni to study kononnya, hehe)

So I dashed to the backyard in an attempt to salvage his clothes and everything started 'spiraling out of control' within SECONDS.

A gust of strong wind came by and before I knew it, I heard a loud BANG.

Horrified to find out what I feared might have just occured *sweats*, I slowly and cautiously turned around to discover that

I, AMMIE JULAI, HAVE JUST MADE MYSELF THE CLOWN OF THE CENTURY BY LOCKING MYSELF OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!!!

#@$^*$#%@#

Imagine, an idiot standing in the middle of the rain, all alone in the backyard with no mobile phone, no key and penniless, holding some clothes and had absolutely no way to get in the house.

Seriously, I was stunned by my own idiocy and my jaw literally dropped. How could I have possibly done that?!!

"Ok, calm down. There has to be a way in." I tried to comfort myself.

Tried knocking on the door and as expected, negative response. No one's around.

Patrolled around the house to check if there's any unclosed window and to my dismay, NONE. Out of desperation, took an unwanted hanger on the ground and tried using it to open my window, which of course, I failed miserably.

I felt defeated.

And, as if mocking my stupidity, the rain came to an abrupt halt amidst such chaos and a streak of sun ray shone through the clouds.

OMGWTFBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Felt like burning Weichao's clothes there and then to avenge myself! Ok, that was slightly exaggerating, just kidding, hehe.

Anyway, it suddenly occured to me that I had no choice but to obediently accept my fate --> wait for the rest to come back which would be around 5ish or 6ish and it's only 2ish now!!

*falls into black hole*

Fine, so I surrendered myself to a state of stupor for a while until I realised, "Hey, it's not THAT bad, it could have been worse!"

There I was, wearing my ultra thick and warm coat and socks, at least I was spared from being frozen to death (mind you, it's still cold although the rain had stopped, it's winter afterall). And what's sweeter, there's a huge sofa lying on the decking sheltered from the rain!

All of a sudden, I felt less pathetic and since I was already trapped in that situation, I might just as well relax on the sofa and wait for the others to come back. =)

Just as I'd curled myself to the most comfortable position, a thought suddenly flashed through my mind, "I wonder if someone would appear soon to rescue me from this mess?".

Nah, very unlikely. I immediately dismissed such wishful thinking.

Then, just as I was about to doze off, I heard footsteps and it wasn't my hallucination!

An unknown guy appeared at the doorstep out of the blue and he was as perplexed as I was (understandbly, I wasn't expecting anyone at this time, let alone a stranger; likewise, he wasn't expecting anyone to be sleeping on the sofa at the doorstep).

Apparently, he's the previous tenant of the house and he came by to get his mails. And you know what's even more miraculous? He actually still HAS the house key!!!!!!!!!!!

So there I was, rescued by a somewhat 'unorthodox knight' but not that I was complaining, I finally got in the house and that's all that mattered.

See, miracles do happen. I'm just glad that I wasn't sulking the whole time of this rather embarrassing incident and on top of everything, I'm just blown away by the perfect timing he showed up. Wasn't that amazing?

Anyway, here I am, narrating my very 'interesting' story to you and the lesson of the story?

DON'T be so kind-hearted next time and just leave housemate's clothes in the rain! Wahaha.

Oh well, what can I say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. *evil laughter*

Yes of course I was joking silly. =P

p.s. Speaking of which, why does the previous tenant still have the house key? How very odd.

p.p.s. Weichao showed no remorse at all even though it all started from his clothes. On the contrary, he mercilessly laughed at me for being so stupid (fine, that might be slightly dumb of me but I don't care, it's still his fault)! Arghhhh! Eh Sookie, one of these days, your bf will be freaking murdered by me, wahaha!

Quote of the Day: "When you find your path, you must not be afraid. You need to have sufficient courage to make mistakes. Disappointment, defeat and despair are the tools God uses to show us the way." (p. 17, in Brida, by Paulo Coelho)

So, the Beijing Olympics.

I'm clear about my sentiment towards it and I do intend to keep it to myself. So don't even bother asking.

Anyway, was having my daily dose of short stories in the Sin Chew Jit Poh (星洲日报,a Malaysian Chinese newspaper)website (btw, do have a read for those who can read Chinese, they usually have pretty good short stories) when the following caught my attention:

YOU ARE STILL OUR CHAMPION! (That's what the headline says)

Apparently, Lee Chong Wei has lost to China's Lin Dan but hey, at least the bloke won Malaysia a silver medal, the FIRST medal (and possibly the only one, dear Malaysian athletes, please prove me wrong) we won in the Beijing Olympics. That's a HUGE achievement if you ask me.

So kudos to Lee Chong Wei, bravo! =)

Btw, I like what Daphne wrote, translation --> You will always be our gold medalist.

How sweet, now that's the spirit, Malaysia Boleh!! (Yes I'm a proud Malaysian despite the fact that I haven't been back home in three years)

And this is where we currently stand, 55th. Hmm, at least we're up there, couldn't ask for more. Once again, all the best to the Malaysian athletes!

Oh yea, was going through the medal tally and realised Malaysia has only won a total of THREE medals (before Chong Wei's silver, that is) ever since the first Olympics! 0_0 1 silver and 2 bronzes, all in badminton, unsurprisingly.

Dear
menteri-menteri, could you guys please throw in more effort (more fundings per se) to develop young sports talents? Surely we can do better than 3 medals. -__-lll

******

On a more random note, just thought I post this video clip here. Most of you would probably be familiar with this song by now. 'Receive the Power' by Guy Sebastian and Paulini (who is she btw?), also the theme song of World Youth Day 2008.

Dear Lord, thank you for everything, I'm truly grateful. =)

p.s. Since I love quotes so much, I thought, why not I do a quote of the day thingy? Yes, very unoriginal but who cares? Btw, yes, I'm currently in the midst of reading Brida.

A ROJAK of Everything!! LOL

So I've been feeling terribly miserable for the past few days and my thesis presentation is in two days time, GREAT!!

I AM SO FUCKED!!!!

*shoots at oneself then falls into black hole*

The thing is, I've been in such a state since last week's Shanghai Night. Instead of feeling a sense of relief after this major event, on the contrary, all I can feel is a sense of emptiness!! Perhaps it's something else, as if something is tragically missing and I think I know what it is......

*falls into deep thoughts*

(Stop telling me to find something else to do because it's NOT as simple as that!!)

And it has reached a point that I want to literally 'run away' --> I suddenly have this urge to throw myself into the embrace of Melbourne, just to get out of Churchill for a while, to be revitalised by the vibrance and energy of city life which I love so much, somehow it strangely comforts me (oh well, I'm a city girl after all, what can I say?). Hmm, perhaps a minor 'retail therapy' will help? =) *starts plotting retail therapy plan, lol*

Hui Ting, can't wait for your return to Oz!! Miss you heaps babe and there're so many things I wanna tell you... *sobs*

Anyway, not too worry about me, perhaps it's the pressure or perhaps it's something else, either way, it doesn't really matter. I just wanted to rant for a bit before resuming my thesis presentation thingy. Better let it all out before it explodes internally right? LOL >_<

-end of babblefest-

Now, some mood-lifting stuff. *hurray* Got some Shanghai Night pictures from a lot of people (but not all yet) and I discovered something 'tragic' --> I was hardly in any of those pictures due to my hectic on-stage and off-stage 'stunts'!! T_T

Oh well, at least I had fun emceeing and performing... *winks*

So here are some pictures taken on Shanghai Night:

The Malaysian mob - Malaysia Boleh!! *pride*

Hmm, as you can see, it's not really a good shot of us Malaysians yang bangga, hehe... Will track down a better shot and post it on my next entry. =)

Splendours of Shanghai Night - a plethora of cultural outfits. *winks*

The (fantastic) Dalpura 4!! See, we had heaps of fun, lol...

Will post more details about Shanghai Night after I 'hijack' more pictures. So do stick around peeps!! ^.^

xxxxx

And something VERY DISGUSTING!! *disgusted and pukes* Just a reminder for you ladies to be more alert, especially those who live off campus and need to walk often.

So yesterday, on a peaceful afternoon, I was gleefully on my way to uni to work UNTIL this freaky teenage boy appeared out of the blue...

Freak: You look sexy...
Me: *WTFish* Huh?!! Err, thanks?

Then he rode off with his bicycle and I carried on walking to uni. Thought that was the end BUT as I reached the junction which is near the roundabout, the freaky boy cum potential stalker appeared again! *gasp*

Freak: Excuse me, are you going to uni?
me: *slightly tensed* Yes...
Freak: You look nice, you look sexy...
me: *kancheong* *WTFish* ......
Freak: Do you have a boyfriend?
me: Yes I have a boyfriend! In fact, he's waiting for me in uni now so I can't talk to you long, I need to go now, bye! (Wished my imaginary boyfriend would appear now, lol)

Then, as I was walking away, he suddenly dropped this jaw-dropping question:

Freak: Excuse me, do you like sex?
me: *super kancheong* *zombified* You know, that's not an appropriate question to ask... *eyes shoot daggers at him*
Freak: Well, you look sexy what...
me: *damn pissed off* But that has nothing to do with sex at all!!

-_-lll

I shall spare you from other absurd things that he said. So I told him off and tried to walk away as fast as I could. I frantically pulled out my mobile from my bag and wanted to call someone but at this point of time, I was so freaked out that I didn't know who to call!! So I dialled the first name I saw on my mobile --> Ben! And even when I was on the phone with Ben, the freak was still yelling "Excuse me!" behind me.

Excuse me my ass la you sicko!!! Go die somewhere else la! *rolls eyes*

Fortunately he didn't follow me though... *wipes sweat* And soon after that, Ben came to my rescue and walked me to uni, phew!! After I got off work, Ben and Ken walked me back home, thanks guys! Really appreciate it. *hearts*

Now I know some of you might go like "Don't worry, it's broad day light, nothing would happen". Well think again, this incident took place at the roundabout where there're heaps of scary and obscuring bushes nearby, not even a single soul was around at the time!! *shivers*

Nevertheless, I reckon I'll bring along a potential weapon (e.g. an umbrella) the next time when I'm forced to walk alone, damn scary can? Bloody pervert, try walk near me again and I'll sula you kao kao!! *sharpens claws*

And guys, please lor, having someone come up to you and tell you you're sexy is anything but complimentary! Especially when it's some kind of underaged potential pervert... *vomits* Honestly, I would rather be a nun than having some kind of 'freaky admirers'!! *vomits and dies* 0_0

So ladies, please be more aware ya!

xxxxx

So I've decided NOT to MSN for the next few days, well, at least not until my presentation is over!

Why? Because I realised MSN is utterly distracting, not very appealing especially when I have a hell lot of work lining up now! *gasp* For example, while I was trying to get some work done last night (and yes my MSN was on), I just couldn't resist kepoh-ing with my friends, such as Hui Ting, para mentees, my favourite brother in-law *lol*, just to name a few.

So yea, the next few days will be my 闭门练功 period then, no MSN whatsoever, for the sake of my presentation. Well, it's also probably good for another reason as well, sigh...

Btw guys, do wish me luck in my thesis presentation! =)

Of Heroes and Other Miscellaneous Incidents

Heroes... my latest 'object of affection'! *winks*

I've been hooked on Heroes, thanks to Lex. So when I first came back to good old Gippy at the beginning of this semester, I was utterly bored (no surprise in that huh? ^^). And that was when Lex introduced me to Heroes.

Initially, the title of the series didn't interest me (seriously, don't you reckon it's rather cliched?). But out of curiousity, I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Eventually, contrary to my initial impression, the series were absolutely addictive and I just couldn't resist it. So finally, I finished 13 episodes in just ONE night!! 0_0

*gasp*

Anyway, despite my ongoing hullabaloo about Heroes, Audrey remained adamant about her opinion of the series --> "It's absolutely ridiculous and it doesn't make sense at all! I just don't like it."

Well, fair enough. I have to agree, it doesn't really make sense in the real world.

But then again, does everything really need to make sense? In the real world, yes, I suppose. But in the movie world, maybe not, depending on that particular genre. That's why we have a genre called 'fantasy' (Heroes is categorised under this genre btw), it's NOT supposed to make sense at all! And plus, trying to make sense of everything is kinda tiring sometimes, somehow it tends to make things even more rigid. So I guess that's the reason Heroes appeals to me, it doesn't really make sense. *lol*

Ok, enough with my sudden philosophical insight. *pai seh* So back to Heroes, there're several characters whom I thought were rather interesting (and not to mention, with interesting powers as well).

Hiro Nakamura

The Japanese dude who can time travel! Honestly, I thought he was pretty deluded intially because he was so headstrong about his time-travelling power. But hell yea, it turned out he really could time travel! 0_o Among all the characters, Hiro is definitely one unlikely hero. However, you have to give this little fellow credit for believing in himself, he actually gave up his job in Tokyo and went all the way to New York to 'save the world'!

You think it's no big deal? Try telling your mum this and see what she'll say. Well, I know what my mum will say for sure, hehe......

me: Mum, I've decided to quit my job because I've suddenly discovered I can time travel. I'm off to New York to save the world now! *excited*
mum: Si gina, you siao arr? You know how much money I spent to raise you or not? And now you just want to cincai quit your job and save other people's asses? *furious* I'll disown you if you step out of this house! *increasingly furious*
me: !!!!!!!!!! *bo bian*

*laughs like an idiot*

Ok, perhaps your mum (and mine too) won't say that. But I'm sure you pretty much have an idea of the possible consequences if you told her that right? Gee, I guess that's why Hiro curi-curi left Japan without informing his dad......

Anyway, I've always thought that time is not something to be meddled with, so I'm not very impressed by Hiro's power. Nevertheless, I'm indeed very amused by his eccentrism, think he's very cute! (suspect it also may be due to the fact that his name is pronounced the same as my son's nickname, hoho~~) *winks*

So everyone, please give it up for Hiro!! *thunderous applause*

Peter Petrelli (I think that's how his last name is spelled)

I'm impressed by his power the most, in my opinion, he has the strongest power of all --> the power to absorb others' power. *gasp* And even more impressive was when he finally managed to conquer whatever that held him back and maximised his power! So he now can be invisible, fly, heal himself, listen to people's thoughts etc. *wow*

Unfortunately, as much as I'm impressed by his power, I'm not at all impressed by him as a guy. Why? Well, it's just a personal preference. This dude has too many complicated issues and he can be rather sensitive as well as insecure sometimes. No offence but an over-sensitive guy is such a turn off!

Clare Bennett

Now don't you think she looks sweeeeet? *winks* Miss Bennett here is everything a 16-year-old wants to be: she's a cheerleader, Homecoming Queen, the sweet girl-next-door...... except for one thing, she's INVINCIBLE!! *gasp* This girl can actually heal herself, and mind you, the self-healing process is rather speedy too! Whether from falling off a skycrapper, exposure to extreme radioactivity or from having a ultra sharp object piercing through her throat (imagine she coming to life after being dissected in a post-mortem room)!! 0_0

Nevertheless, despite the fact that she's invincible, she's also pretty vulnerable at the same time, especially when she managed to track down her biological parents and only to be turned away by her biological father. *lelaki yang tak guna!* Poor girl...... *sighs*

Nikki Sanders

Nikki is definitely one of the hottest female characters in Heroes! And for someone who has a son, she's way beyond hottttttt....

I can see you GUYS drooling..... *lol*

But too bad boys, as sexy as she is, she's also as deadly as Poison Ivy thanks to her evil alter-ego in the form of 'Jessica' (her dead twin sister). As opposed to sweet and meek Nikki, Jessica is cold-blooded, smart and exceptionally strong (imagine she could actually rip a grown man into two with her bare hands)! And worse, Nikki is totally at Jessica's disposal, she has no control over when Jessica emerges and takes over her body. Gee, speaking of the most dangerous split personality disorder!

So boys, remember the saying 'don't mess with girls'? Well, Nikki (or rather, Jessica) is absolutely one chick you don't wanna mess with it...... *lol*

Anyway, speaking of sexiness, here comes my favourite character! Hey, he's actually voted as one of the sexiest guys by, err..... I think, Forbes, if I remember correctly.

.

.

.

.

.

Dr. Mohinder Suresh! *swoons*

Well, he may not have any super powers but he's undoubtedly a smart and gifted human genome expert (somehow I always find SMART guys attractive, hehe... *blushes*). I particularly like the way he talks about the human genome, si beh smart ok? Haha...... (OMG, I sounded like a bimbo or a 花痴, didn't I? *pai seh*) Anyway, I seriously think the series should focus more on him and give more depth to his character, that'll be be perfecto!

Isn't he charming? Awwwww......

I've basically watched Heroes up to episode 17, damn kancheong now lor~~ So whoever that has episode 18 please kindly donate it to me asap, I assure you your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. *hint hint to Lex, wahaha*

xxxxx

SWIMMING CLASS

So I went for a swimming lesson last week and to my surprise, out of the many people who signed up, I was the only one present! *gasp*

Oh well, it's actually quite good considering I had a one-to-one swimming lesson and plus I'm a very slow learner when it comes to sports, hehe...... Anyway, I have to give credit to dear Meg for being such a wonderful coach. Gosh, this girl was just so patient and helpful, no wonder she's doing Education, I can see an outstanding teacher in the making there! *thumbs up*

So back to swimming. I've always enjoyed swimming, and hell, it's the only sports that I enjoy doing! But ever since I stopped learning during my SPM era (man, that was like 6 freaking years ago!), it has remained stagnant until now. Oh well, at least I know freestyle (although, ahem, I'm not very good at it and that's the only stroke I know!). But my problem is, I can't seem to stay afloat as soon as I stop swimming, so that explains why I could never swim beyond 25m (that's pretty much the maximum length my feet can still reach the bottom and I was [still am] too chicken to swim further than that, hehe...).

Anyway, during the lesson, I could actually swim a full lap! (with the help of a floating board of course) At the same time, Meg was just chatting casually with me in an attempt to distract me from being chickened out. *lol*

Oh dear Meg, how sweet of you......

And it really worked, I was immediately more at ease and was able to swim more confidently. However, at the deepest end of the swimming pool.......

Meg: Hmm, you're doing good now.
me: *quite relaxed* Yea I reckon, thanks to you.
Meg: So you reckon you're alright without the board? *seemed to prepare to steal my board away from me*
me: *suddenly very tensed & defensive* NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

-____-lll

Ok, I'm embarrassing myself here. *blushes* Oh well, I guess I'm just too paranoid, seriously need to work on that. *fingers crossed* Guys, wish me luck!

Btw, me being zero talent in sports (swimming per se) actually contributes to a new analogy --> Ammie in the water = Patrick out of the water!

-________-llllll

Did you get it? Nvm, I shall demonstrate it for you. *villainous smirks*

Dear old Patrick under the sea (that reminds me, Patrick has actually appeared on this blog twice!)

.

.

.

.

.

.

So what will happen to cute little Patrick if he's out of the water? (Hint: It happened in SpongeBob SquarePants)

.

.

.

.

.

.

Tadah! Poor Patrick will revert to his original form......

=.=

Ok, you're supposed to laugh now. (And if you don't, it means you don't have a good sense of humour or my joke was lame. But since I refuse to believe the latter, it's decided that you don't possess a good sense of humour, should you not laugh)

-__-"

Ok, I realise I'm talking nonsense again. Case about swimming class will therefore be adjourned.

xxxxx

Other Recent Updates
  1. Had a great ISA committee dinner at a Chinese restaurant in Traralgon last week. The buffet was so-so but absolutely enjoyed myself, I was more into talking than eating! Will upload pictures taken there as soon as I get them.
  2. Need to start working on Ramblings soon, I'll be writing feature articles for the first edition, hurray! *excited*
  3. Also need to work on the Nexus soon, looking forward to that. *double dose of excitement* Think I have an idea of who to 'recruit' as writers for the Nexus. *hint hint to Sookie, hehe*
  4. My MSN and damn Telstra Broadband are completely pissing me off! *si beh tulan* So if you don't receive any replies from me on MSN, that's because either one of them (or both) is kicking up a fuss. Please lor, I won't simply ignore anyone's messages (I have very good manners Ok? Aiyo, muka tembok ni, hehe......), unless if he/she has been a dickhead. And if that's the case, I'd have already blocked he/she ages ago.

xxxxx

I'm so FUCKED!!!!! *takes a deep breath*

Seriously, need to move my lazy ass and do something about it......

神啊!救救我吧!

Ok, bedtime now. Will work on it from tomorrow onwards. *very determined* Dear God, please show me your guidance......

Final Destination

Intrigued by the above title? Did I just send a chill down your spine? *winks* Fear not, I assure you this blog does not contain any whatsoever horror element popularised by the movie Final Destination. *rolls eyes*

-_-lll

OK, I'll cut the crap, hehe... (bo bian lo, I tend to crap when I'm in a good mood 0_0)

So, why "Final Destination"? Well, I reckon my smart readers would have probably figured it out.

In reader's mind: xanga>>msn space>>friendster>>blogspot *tadah!*
Yes, you're right. *nods head* As can be seen from your mind map above *ahem*, my 'nomadic journey' in blogging started from Xanga and went all the way to Blogspot. I don't suppose I'm gonna change anymore because I'm really loving my new blog! That's why it's the final destination. *in awe*
Btw a big round of applause to Lex who generously offered me his assistance in constructing my new blog when I was on the verge of giving up (oh well, I'm not an IT whiz after all, that's why HTML kinda intimidates me, haha). *thunderous applause* And also thanks to his constant auntish naggings and grumblings (he couldn't read my friendster blog due to a blockage by Monash server, hehe), I've finally managed to move my lazy ass to work on this blogspot thingy (which I've been procrastinating for at least 1 month)! *blushes*

So yea, make sure you COME, you SEE & you DROP! *gasp* o_0 Haha, drop as in dropping me a few lines of comments *lol*, am certainly looking forward to that. *winks*

p.s. About my previous entries, they're originally posted on Friendster. Why are they here? Well, this is a request from none other than my dearest mentee Lex. (bo bian lo, since he kindly helped me with this blog, so had to give him face lo, hehe)

p.p.s. For Wayne who's gonna have an exam tomorrow (not Wayne Tan btw, this is my junior in Tsung Wah), all the best! Don't worry, I'm sure you're gonna get a good result. *winks*
